This morning we are continuing in our study about faith, and we will examine Abraham's and Sarah's faith and see how they adjusted their lives to God. They are the first married couple in the Bible whose story of faith and obedience is recorded. When God called them they obeyed and followed his leadership. They lived their lives of faith without seeing the promises of God completely fulfilled on this earth. They were unsatisfied with the world, but instead they found satisfaction in the calling and hope of God. They also blessed future generations, and that also continued through the centuries until today. When a soldier is killed in battle, his coffin is draped with a flag representing his nation. But the flag is not buried with the body; instead it is passed on to the next of kin to symbolize that the nation lives on. The same is true with the Christian faith. No matter how many great Christians pass on, the Lord continues to produce more, and he will remain faithful for all generations.
