How much do you worry? How much energy, time, or other resources do you invest in worry? God has a simple solution for worry that we will explore this morning. Next month is a month of new beginnings at IBC. Our new Youth Minister will arrive. Our small groups will restart. Awana will start back up again. And we are getting closer to our new building being completed every week. We hope by the end of the year to be able to move into it. New beginnings bring with it a need to remember who we are as a church, what our purpose is, and what our nature is. This next month I will begin a new sermon series on the Book of Acts, and we will study afresh God's original design of the church. Proverbs 29:18 says, "Where there is no vision, the people perish" (KJV), or "the people cast off restraint" (NIV and ESV). The meaning for us is that when there is no unifying vision for the church, the people go in every imaginable direction, and there is ineffectual use of resources, a waste of opportunities, and, very often, division and conflict. So I would like us to let this scripture guide us to an understanding of who God planned for the church to be, how he planned us to live, and who he is calling us to be in this day and age. - Pastor David Packer
