Today is Resurrection Day, as we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ! The crucified One came out of the tomb and is alive forever more! He is the Resurrection and the Life! (John 11:25) He gives life to day! (John 5:21)
I hope this Sunday finds you and your family well. While we are unable to meet on Sundays at present, due to the COVID-19 shutdown, we are able to meet online. The government has said that the shutdown will be reviewed again next week, but at this time it seems like it will continue for a while.
Let me encourage you to pray for those in our church who are sick or who are elderly. Pray also for the many doctors and nurses in our church family who are treating the sick. These are our heroes during these days, and we thank God for them. Pray for their safety from getting the virus themselves and for their work that touches so many people.
Questions for Discussion: Here are some discussion questions you and your family can use:
How has God surprised you with how he has reached out to you in ways and at times you did not expect? Have you ever planned an encounter with God and came away disappointed? What do you think happened? The message spoke about presence of fear and the absence of joy, peace, and purpose. Which of these four things troubles you the most? Victory over these problems can happen in a flash, but often it takes time. What are some good habits that you can establish in your life that will gain courage, peace, joy, and purpose? What are some bad habits of thought, or habits of action, that keep you enslaved to negative feelings? When did you trust in Christ as your Savior? What can you do in your life to encourage the awareness of God's presence with you? Blessings, Pastor David
